LIFE SCIENCE IMMERSION PROGRAM-INDUSTRY CERTIFICATE
This intensive online certificate program uses industry driven curriculum to give individuals the business acumen to successfully transition into and move up the career ladder in industrial careers. Graduates from this program will be knowledgeable about the highly regulated life sciences business environment and the reality of work in multi-disciplinary project teams to meet business goals. The aim is to shorten the orientation time companies expect as new hires fit into the team-based, multi-disciplinary corporate culture.
Through a combination of web based industry presentations and case studies, graduates of the program will gain:
• Practical understanding of the functional units of a life sciences company;
• Certification that is recognized by life science companies;
• Familiarity with the California regional business environment; and
• Life science networks built on interactions with peers and case study work with experts in the field.
UNIQUE PROGRAM FEATURES
▶ Industry Driven Curriculum: Written by BIOCOM Board members and committees, the LSIP curriculum will feature high-level, expert introductions to the four core modules; Business Environment, Finance, Product/Process Development and Marketing/Sales/Business Development. Through video vignettes and case study examples industry experts will teach students real-life lessons learned and relevant best practices based on their experience.
▶ Individual Action Roadmap: This tool will help participants get started and advance on their career path. The assessment will explore strengths, skill gaps and key actions to focus on when entering and working in the business world. Participants may, in the context of the program, create a personal action plan in which they'll identify strengths and development areas. They'll be given information on how to leverage strengths and be given opportunities to outline development strategies. The output is a personal roadmap and development plan.
