Life Sciences Summer Institute (LSSI) Trained Interns for the Life Science Industry

BIOCOM knows that demand is high for entry-level workers.   With that in mind, we have partnered with the San Diego Workforce Partnership to create a program that exposes students and teachers to the life science industry. LSSI connects upper-level high school, university and community college students, as well as teachers and faculty, with leading companies within San Diego’s life sciences community.

Employers are looking for a way to secure promising candidates early, particularly in the life science industry where there is intense competition for students with specific skills or majors.  A solid internship experience can be an effective recruiting tool to identify top entry-level candidates in an increasingly competitive marketplace for top college graduates.  Studies show that employees who start out as interns before coming on board full-time usually have better retention rates.
