BIOCOM and the Southern California life sciences community experienced growth and success in 2010, despite continuing economic pressures. BIOCOM's public policy efforts throughout the state and in Washington, D.C. eliminated barriers to innovation and business for BIOCOM's member companies. Several new initiatives were developed by BIOCOM to meet the growing and evolving needs of its members. BIOCOM also continued to support the financial health of its members through educational events and a purchasing group that provides robust savings for member companies and their employees.

  • Defeated 100 % of harmful state legislation
  • Saved members $34.5 million through the BIOCOM Purchasing Group in 2010
  • Facilitated meetings with government officials to award $67 million to county biotech
  • Produced more than 75 education/networking events a year
  • Regularly met with members of the CA Congressional Delegation
