BioCollaborative: Industry Wants to Hire Professionals with a Mix of Business and Science
The high tech/high growth sectors of the economy look to the CSU Professional Science Master’s program (PSM) to create a robust pool of skilled professionals. PSM programs are of significant economic value to the life sciences in California and nationally because they address the industry’s workforce development needs. PSM programs in the life sciences are located near virtually every major biotechnology center in California and the nation. These programs recruit and train highly skilled Master’s degree students and emphasize science and workforce-related areas – project management, quality control and assurance, regulatory affairs – the very skills that make them industry ready upon graduation.
PSM programs also provide Master’s degree training for current employees. They are helping companies to provide their professional staff with advanced training in the most current areas of science, management, finance, and entrepreneurships. Life science companies in California and the nation have benefited and will continue to benefit from the highly skilled workforce prepared by PSM programs. Through these programs, higher education is addressing the critical training needs required for the nation to retain its international competitiveness in this leading economic sector.
The BioCollaborative is a partnership with the California State University (CSU) system, the BIOCOM Institute and industry partners that creates a seamless transition from CSU Professional Science Master’s programs to high demand employment in the life sciences using web-based resources.
