Grant P. Bagley M.D. J.D.
Grant P. Bagley M.D. J.D. chairs the firm's Business Advisory Board and acts as a Senior Advisor. Dr. Bagley complements the firm's healthcare and life sciences practices with nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare field and a deep and sophisticated understanding of healthcare policy issues and regulatory programs, including as the managing partner of the healthcare practice at Arnold & Porter LLP. He works with clients on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) matters, as well as on healthcare reform and legislative initiatives. His advanced work in genetics and bioengineering is particularly valuable to clients with biotechnology issues. He is currently a member of the CPT Committee of the American Medical Association (AMA), pathology Coding Caucus and the RUC.

Michael Beebe joined HillCo HEALTH in 2008 as its Vice President and Reimbursement Practice leader. In that role Michael directs and advises clients himself on all aspects of reimbursement and strategic policy planning related to product commercialization including reimbursement consulting and technology assessment as well as specific coding strategies in the physician office and the hospital or health care provider settings. Michael left the American Medical Association (AMA) after working there since 1995, most recently as Director of CPT. In this capacity he had responsibility for all CPT content development and maintenance activities, as well as CPT education and licensing efforts in the United States and abroad. Michael was a central participant in AMA advocacy efforts involving public and private coverage, coding and reimbursement issues; including provider class action litigation, CMS physician payment negotiations, and local coverage determinations. During Michael's oversight of CPT significant changes were made to the physician drug administration codes, Evaluation and Management services, wound and skin graft services, as well as 1,000s of other coding changes. Michael also oversaw the development of two new CPT code sets: CPT Category II codes for performance measurement; and CPT Category III codes for new and emerging technologies. In early 2007 Michael established the CPTAssistant Editorial Board as a means to create and disseminate accurate and consistent advice on the use and interpretation of CPT codes by all providers and payers.

Richard DeRisio, Divisional Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Abbott Medical Optics
Richard DeRisio is Divisional Vice President, Regulatory Affairs for Abbott Medical Optics, in Santa Ana, CA. His department's responsibilities include global regulatory and government affairs, reimbursement and policy. From 2003 to 2007, he held positions of Vice President, Quality & Regulatory Affairs and Vice President, Regulatory Affairs at Kinetic Concepts, Inc. Previously, Dick worked in corporate and operating company positions at Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and other medical device companies. He has held leadership clinical, regulatory and quality roles for manufacturers of mechanical heart valves, defibrillators, electrophysiology catheters, wound healing systems, robotic surgery devices and sterilization equipment. During an earlier ten-year career at FDA's Washington offices, Dick worked in the Agency's field operations headquarters and later in the Office of Compliance in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health. Dick is a graduate of Cornell University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and Master of Science degree in food science and technology with a minor in microbiology. He participates on AdvaMed and ANSI committees and is a member of AIChE and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society. He serves on the editorial advisory boards of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry magazine and the Devices and Diagnostic Letter.

Matt Dolan, Senior Research Analyst, ROTH Capital Partners
Matt Dolan is a Senior Research Analyst focusing on Medical Technology: Devices & Diagnostics. Prior to joining ROTH Capital Partners in 2003, Mr. Dolan formed a trading group at the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Board Options Exchange where he analyzed position risk and traded equities and fixed-income products. He also worked as an analyst with a hedge fund in New York, specializing in small-cap medical device, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Dolan received his Bachelor's degree in Economics/Pre-Med from Northwestern University.

Wendy C. Goldstein, J.D. M.P.H., Member, Chair of Health Practice, EpsteinBeckerGreen
Wendy C. Goldstein, J.D. M.P.H., is a Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences Practice in the firm's New York office and chairs the Pharmaceutical Industry Health Regulatory Practice Group. Ms. Goldstein concentrates in health care fraud and abuse and government health care program matters relevant to manufacturers and to managed care payors. Specifically, Ms. Goldstein provides counsel to clients regarding the research, manufacture, promotion, distribution, pricing and import/export of pharmaceuticals, biologics and medical devices. She also counsel clients regarding the coverage of pharmaceuticals by health care insurers (public and private). Such counsel includes topics relating to fraud and abuse, FDCA, PDMA, third party reimbursement (government and commercial), Medicaid Drug Rebate and other government program pricing, corporate compliance and state law issues. She also is involved with defending pharmaceutical manufacturers in all phases of government investigations and inquiries. Ms. Goldstein has negotiated corporate integrity agreements with the OIG on behalf of manufacturers in connection with the settlement of qui tam or other government actions.

J.C. MacRae, former Chief Financial Officer, CoreValve, Inc.,
J.C. MacRae is the former Chief Financial Officer of CoreValve, Inc., an innovative heart valve developer, which was recently acquired by Medtronic in one of the highest private held medical device valuations in history. Mr. MacRae has spent the last 25 years in senior general and financial management positions with venture backed medical product technology companies helping lead them to growth and profitability. Mr. MacRae has been involved in numerous private financings, three successful IPO's and three company sales.

James (Jim) V. Mazzo, President, Abbott Medical Optics Inc.,Senior Vice President, Abbott
James (Jim) Mazzo is senior vice president at Abbott and president of Abbott Medical Optics Inc. (AMO), the global leader in advanced refractive technologies for eye care professionals and patients. Headquartered in Santa Ana, California, AMO offers market-leading technologies and services designed to address vision disorders at all stages of life. Mr. Mazzo assumed the position of president following the company's February 2009 acquisition by Abbott [NYSE: ABT], a global, broad-based healthcare company with more than $30 billion in annual sales. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of Advanced Medical Optics, Inc., a position he assumed following the company's 2002 spin-off from Allergan. While CEO of Advanced Medical Optics, Mr. Mazzo grew the company's sales from $538 million in 2002 to more than $1 billion in 2008 and increased the market cap from approximately $429 million to approximately $1.5 billion. During this time, he also engineered several strategic acquisitions worth more than $3 billion, staking the company to clear leadership positions in the cataract and eye care markets and the global No. 1 position in refractive surgery.


Robert C. McDonald MD, MBA,President, Aledo Consulting Inc.
Dr. McDonald is the Founder and President of Aledo Consulting, a consultancy formed in 2004 to assist companies commercializing novel health care products and services. Prior to founding Aledo Consulting, Dr. McDonald held a variety of senior positions within the headquarters and in several operating units at Anthem, Inc (now Wellpoint, Inc., the largest health plan in the United States). He served as Corporate Medical Director of Medical Policy, oversaw the Medical Policy Department that created the company's coverage and reimbursement policies and participated in collaborative Blue Cross and Blue Shield national medical policy committees. Concurrently, he served as Medical Director of Anthem Prescription and chaired the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He provided medical and reimbursement support to the staff which managed Anthem venture capital investments. Prior to Anthem, Dr. McDonald served as a Health Economics Research Physician at Eli Lilly and Company, where he developed and managed studies for documenting the economic value of Lilly products, served on the Global Pricing Committee, and developed global health economic strategies for Centoxin, the first biotech product to treat sepsis.

James Talevich, former Chief Financial Officer, I-Flow Corporation
James Talevich was Chief Financial Officer of I-Flow Corporation (Nasdaq: IFLO) from 2000 until the successful sale of the company for $324 million to Kimberly-Clark in November 2009 with the assistance of Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining I-Flow, he was Chief Financial Officer of Gish Biomedical, Inc., a publicly held medical device company, from 1999 to 2000, and Chief Financial Officer of Tectrix Fitness Equipment, Inc., a privately held manufacturing company, from 1995 to 1999. Previously, he held financial management positions with Mallinckrodt Medical, Inc., Sorin Biomedical, Inc., a medical products subsidiary of Fiat S.p.A., Pfizer, Inc., SensorMedics Corporation, a privately held medical device company, Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc. and KPMG Peat Marwick. Mr. Talevich serves on UCLA Anderson School of Management Alumni Board of Directors and the SEC and Financial Reporting Institute Advisory Council at the USC Marshall School of Business. Mr. Talevich holds a B.A. in Physics from California State University, Fullerton, an M.B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Lisa Walters-Hoffert, Managing Director, ROTH Capital Partners
Lisa Walters-Hoffert initially joined ROTH Capital Partners in 1997 and serves as Managing Director in ROTH's San Diego office. Her principal areas of focus are life sciences and medical technology. Since 1986 Ms. Walters has held numerous positions in corporate finance including senior vice president in the Investment Banking Division of Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., New York and co-head of investment banking activities in Central America and the Caribbean for Citicorp Securities, Inc., San José, Costa Rica. Her transactional experience includes initial and follow-on public offerings, merger and acquisition advisory, private placements of both debt and equity, interest rate and currency hedging strategies and strategic analyses. Lisa graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. degree in Management Sciences and Finance. Lisa also provides leadership as a board chair and member of two non-profit organizations in San Diego.
