An understanding of intellectual property is essential to companies, universities, entrepreneurs, researchers and inventors. Anyone involved in innovation--from gene therapy treatments to surfboard designs--needs to know what their IP is and how to protect it.
This introductory survey will provide you with the ability to identify intellectual property and determine how to best protect it--including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. The program will also focus specifically on the patent process, including strategies for protecting your IP on a budget and recent legal changes that affect IP rights.
