BAY AREA EVENTS

Biocom creates valuable networks that accelerate member success in the Bay Area through a variety of programs, including specialized events, targeted conferences, expert committees, leadership dinners, industry-focused meetings, scientific roundtables, venture capital days, and member-to-member networking. To address the greatest challenge of the region, our lack of a geographical center, we hold these events throughout the greater Bay Area in a broad range of locations, times and venues. In addition to our events, Biocom also supports and partners on events held by local organizations, which can be viewed here.

Sabrina Binczewski
Senior Membership Coordinator — Bay Area

Sabrina supports the membership team by targeting potential new members and following up with existing members. She communicates with members about the many benefits of joining Biocom and ensures they are making the most of their membership in the Bay Area.

Sabrina graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2019 with a BS in Biology and Minor in Business. Her past experience includes an internship with WaveMaker360 Health, in which she identified and networked with healthcare start-ups at USC.

Daniel Im
Senior Business Development Associate — Bay Area

Daniel is responsible for expanding the Biocom presence in the Bay Area through membership development and engagement, as well as fostering community for members within the life science industry.

His background includes a short stint as a winemaking intern post-grad, five years of sustainability research and development at DuPont Industrial Biosciences followed by four years in a sales and marketing role at VWR. Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of California, Davis.

Michelle Nemits
Executive Director, Bay Area — Bay Area

As Executive Director of Biocom’s South San Francisco office, Michelle is responsible for building the framework for enabling the creation of a strong, well-connected life science community in the Bay Area. She leads Biocom’s programming and benefits efforts and helps raise awareness of the region’s innovations and accomplishments.

Michelle has spent over 20 years in Bay Area life science sales, marketing and business development. She has held leadership roles at a large lab supply distributor and at a biotech tools startup, which fostered her broad view of the Bay Area market, its challenges and its opportunities.

Lauren Panetta
Associate Director of Marketing
Lauren Panetta
Associate Director of Marketing — San Diego

Lauren is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing Biocom’s marketing and communication channels including Biocom’s social media, BCQ newsletter, and LifeLines Magazine.

Prior to joining Biocom, Lauren helped establish the brand behind MD Revolution, a digital health company pioneering the way towards proactive health. She also brings experience working at CONNECT, an organization recognized as one of the world’s most successful regional business accelerators, where she managed the production and led creative design of all marketing materials. Lauren hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communication from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
