Sr. Membership Coordinator – Northern California Region


Reports to:
Sr. Director of Membership

The Sr. Membership Coordinator will support company-wide membership growth by assisting the Business Development Manager in the Bay Area with pipeline management of prospective members from initial contact through formal membership acceptance.  In addition, this person will provide administrative support to the membership department.

Biocom is the premier life science industry association representing more than 1,100 member companies throughout California. The association focuses on initiatives that positively influence the growth of the life science industry, including capital formation, public policy, workforce development, group purchasing, and scientific discovery and development. 

Sales Support Responsibilities:

  • Prospect new sales opportunities applying lead generation sales methodologies.
  • Support the sales team quotas by qualifying leads
  • Promptly follow up with and qualify marketing-generated inquiries for our services.
  • Research and gather information about targets and develop prospecting lists.
  • Document all activities and interactions in SalesForce.
  • Efficiently manage prospect pipeline to produce the maximum amount of results.

Membership Responsibilities:

  • Supports membership activities – activates member benefits, fields ongoing member inquiries, creates new members packets, keeps records of membership dues, status, number/type of members, etc.
  • SalesForce Management – manage pipeline of prospects, create tasks, etc.

Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

Experience and Skills:

  • Three (3+) years of experience in a sales support role, preferably in a life science-related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and to be a self-motivated, innovative, and an independent thinker. Ability to be resourceful on independent projects.
  • Must have excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Strong desire to work in a fast paced team focused organization.
  • Must possess a high level of customer service and care in order to provide best in-class experiences to our members.
  • Must have exemplary verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate descriptively or persuasively with all levels in an organization, including C-Suite.
  • Ability to cold call and proactively reach out to prospective members.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and credibility at all times.
  • Proficient with Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite products.
