Director of Workforce Strategy & Innovation

Job Description:
The Director of Workforce Strategy & Innovation will work with Biocom Institute’s Executive Director to provide direction and operational management of Biocom Institute’s workforce development and professional development programs. The Director will play a key role in expanding Biocom Institute’s workforce development portfolio. The Director will be responsible for Program budget, performance management, staffing, design and implementation and for supporting workforce programs with funding and revenue development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Biocom Institute expansion efforts, deepening strong relationships with key strategic partners from the public and private sector, academia, and other collaborating NPO’s, and forging new partnerships;
  • Manage a team of professionals to ensure key strategic, tactical and business initiatives are executed;
  • Responsible for developing and managing workforce development and professional development programs;
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet program goals and scale programs;
  • Assist the Executive Director in identifying funding and grant opportunities and developing partnerships and responses to appropriate requests for proposals (RFPs);
  • Support with marketing Biocom Institute programs and services to community stakeholders and potential partners;
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Executive Director requiring research, analysis, implementation and reporting;
  • Assist Biocom Institute programs in developing and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting progress;
  • Represent and promote Biocom Institute by serving on task forces, committees and events.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • Minimum 8+ years in a leadership role with expertise in education or workforce development;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex array of projects, operational and strategic goals, and relationships with internal and external partners;
  • Strong ability to foster relationships with local legislators, heads of academia, and business leaders;
  • Experience in writing and managing grants;
  • Excellent public speaking skills, and strong social media knowledge and experience;

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Overall compensation package includes 401K matching, performance bonuses, fully subsidized benefits, favorable flex and comp time, and a robust offering of additional employee benefits.
