Financial Data Analyst

Position Summary:

The position of the Financial Data Analyst will report to the Sr. Data Analyst and will assist in the design, implementation, and support of Biocom California Purchasing Group and IT data systems. This position will work with various financial data sets and will transform data into insight to support ongoing business development. This position will partner with many stakeholders across the business to support decision making through reporting on key operational metrics and analysis. Projects will be wide ranging and require someone with a strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, analytics, problem solving, and a deep understanding of relational databases and various outputs of data.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with all functional groups to measure, recommend, and develop KPI metrics to help improve business strategies.
  • Support ad hoc analytic requests from raw data through presentation quickly and accurately.
  • Routinely work with external partners in the exchange of information to help fill sales pipelines, critical customer information and use methods to maximize data efficiency.
  • Provide insightful financial reports and analyses related to strategic planning.
  • Partner with other teams to develop key business metrics for management reviews and decision making.
  • Analyze spending and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and trend analysis using systems/tools like CRM/Salesforce.com, Excel, Sisense, Tableau, SOQL/SQL or similar tools to support a data driven organization.
  • Develop different data/forecasting models to analyze the trends, patterns, and/or business analytics.
  • Support the implementation of data strategy for Biocom California which includes the data integrity management, data governance policies, business processes, and analytics to enable Biocom California as a data driven organization.
  • Help in maintaining the data integrity of the database by ensuring clean and accurate information.
  • Perform root cause analysis and gap analysis when any data issues occur.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Computer Science/ Information Systems or related field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related finance/data analytics experience.
  • Advanced Excel and data modeling skills.
  • Experience building comprehensive financial data models.
  • Basic understanding of database concepts and hands- on experience with data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Einstein Analytics, Power BI).
  • Ability to thrive in high visibility, fast paced, and constantly evolving project environment.
  • Experience working directly with business users to build reports, dashboards and solving business questions with data.
  • Experience with data integrity concepts and techniques preferred.
  • Ability to work cross functionally internally and externally both preferred.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus.
