Manager, Marketing & Events

Position Summary:

The position of the Manager, Marketing and Events is responsible for cultivating new and thoughtful events and marketing initiatives for Biocom California Purchasing Group’s 35+ endorsed suppliers while meeting the needs of a growing network of over 1,500 members. This position will streamline communication between the Purchasing Group and the Company’s endorsed suppliers in a unified and supportive manner. A substantial level of planning responsibilities exists, usually affecting numerous employees and activities requiring a significant amount of time. All duties performed will have minimal supervision, standard practices or procedures to allow for routine work conducted individually, with occasional work while in progress, and work will be reviewed upon completion.

The Manager, Marketing and Events is responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies to establish brand consistency and increase sales for all preferred suppliers. Job duties include managing budgets, measuring KPIs, and calculating the return on investment for all Purchasing Group marketing & event efforts. Other tasks include identifying target audiences and conducting market research. This position will communicate with various departments in the company to ensure inter-departmental alignment and cohesion, and work with other high-level managers to plan strategies and develop specific goals to define and ensure organizational success.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the marketing team, create, monitor and close out all Purchasing Group marketing initiatives to ensure consistency in communication across Biocom California and alignment to Purchasing Group marketing strategy
  • Create and implement marketing initiatives that highlight industry trends, company announcements, partnerships, thought leadership, and newsworthy stories
  • Promote endorsed suppliers through existing marketing channels including email and social media
  • Manage email marketing and lead generation campaigns
  • In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, Director of PG, BD, and PMs, create and develop annual event strategies and objectives
  • Manage event planning, budgets, sponsorships, vendor relationships, and onsite logistics
  • Create member-centric pre- and post-event marketing including event surveying and analytics
  • Increase member attendance at events with previously unengaged portions of membership
  • Support the BD and Membership teams in creating systems for benchmarking new member engagement and supporting retention efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Marketing or Business Management preferred
  • Minimum five (5) or more years of related marketing experience, ideally in event marketing
  • Minimum five (5) or more years of experience in trade show planning, events
  • Experience using Salesforce or other Customer Relation Management (CRM) for lead management
  • Experience in partnering with enterprise sales teams
  • Working knowledge of all standard office equipment such as a computer, credit card, and printer
  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company’s Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management
