Senior Contract Administration Manager

Position Summary:

The Senior Contract Administration Manager will collaborate with the contract team to draft and process a variety of contracts. This will include leading legal drafting, review, and redline activities, as well as analyzing and identifying risk and contractual concerns for Biocom California.  Researching and resolving legal contractual issues, as well as providing guidance and recommendations on contract standards and compliance. The Senior Contract Administration Manager will maintain and manage contract workflow and serve as custodian of records. This position reports to the Director of Contracts. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drafts, reviews, and redlines a variety of contracts from moderate to comprehensive complexity and provides written and oral recommendations, as well as compares various draft versions to ensure agreed changes are properly incorporated.   
  • Executes contract extensions, terminations, and changes in scope. 
  • Recommends, develops, and implements contracting policies, procedures, and processes. 
  • Continuously measures performance and improves productivity for contract workflow. 
  • Maintains original and electronic contract files; coordinates review of contract versions by appropriate team members and maintains contract databases. 
  • Manage and maintains contract templates, including systematic template review and revision to ensure templates meet current legal requirements and business needs. 
  • Prepares contract summaries and various lists for department and compliance use. 
  • Monitors compliance with internal business and communicates breach of contracts. 
  • Drafts termination letters and other legal notice correspondence as appropriate and required. 
  • Performs research on laws and regulations to advise on relevant contracting issues, interpret legal terms, and manage business risk.  
  • Secure necessary approvals and ensure that standard operating procedures are followed.  
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • 7+ years of commercial contracting experience, including 2+ in a legal setting (or equivalent). 
  • Adept at technical tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, document sharing, and e-signature tools. 
  • Basic knowledge of survey software, virtual data rooms, web conferencing, and CRM software. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal or Paralegal Studies or other legal related discipline.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  
  • Knowledge of life sciences preferred 
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Performs a variety of complicated tasks.   
  • Demonstrated experience approaching problems creatively and analytically, remaining adaptable to a fast-paced environment and changing business landscape. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, manage time and stay organized while working independently or with a team.  
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, decentralized environment and handling multiple projects with competing deadlines 
  • Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team to solve problems and promptly answer questions, leveraging effective communication and strong writing skills 
  • Ability to track contractual terms, using meticulous attention to detail and organization.  
  • Excellent demonstrated PC-computer skills and well versed with a variety of software packages for word processing (MS Office), spreadsheets and database management.  Knowledge of as well as Project management software a plus; 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment.  

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in the San Diego is $90,000- $130,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education etc. Biocom California is a multi-state and multi-regional employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states and regions.
