Biocom and Slone Partners, a life science executive search firm, joined forces to present an overview of the current trends in life science investing. The evening kicked off with Jon Norris, Managing Director at Silicon Valley Bank, who provided an overview of current trends in healthcare company investments, IPOs and exits in the therapeutics, diagnostics and tools spaces. A lively panel followed with venture capitalists including Scott Barclay from Data Collective, Mira Chaurushiya from 5AM Ventures, Jeff Chung from AME Cloud Ventures, Alex Kolicich from 8VC, Jenny Rooke from Genoa Ventures and Greg Yap from Menlo Ventures. The panel discussion focused on trends the individual VCs were seeing in the areas they focus on, how AI/ML were impacting the science and investing trends and how traditional healthcare and tech investors differed in how they approach and evaluate opportunities. The evening also provided great networking for over 120 local life science executives from therapeutic, diagnostic, digital health, genomics and tools companies. A special thank you to Slone Partners for their sponsorship and support of this event.
