Biocom’s San Diego Facilities Committee is excited to highlight Takeda’s new global research facility on June 27th. Join us for a visit to their custom-built pre-clinical drug discovery research center. The three-story plus basement, 165,000 square-foot building houses 250-plus employees which represents over 15% of Takeda global research workforce. Takeda’s other global research centers are in Boston and Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture just outside Tokyo.

Takeda built the new facility to unite its San Diego workforce under one roof, having previously been spread across two buildings. Of the company’s four areas of R&D—gastroenterology, neuroscience, oncology and rare diseases—scientists in San Diego focus on GI research and on neuroscience.

Our facility highlight of Takeda will begin with a panel presentation from the architect, designer, landlord, and company representatives who worked on building the new site. Following the presentation, we will offer facility tours and a hosted outdoor reception.
