Lauren Shipp

Science Educator

As Science Educator, Lauren is responsible for advanced science curriculum and programming with Biocom California Institute’s outreach and partnerships.

Prior to Biocom California, Lauren was a Postdoctoral Scholar conducting research in molecular neurobiology at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and Adjunct Faculty at the University of San Diego. She has co-authored 10 publications spanning the fields of cellular and developmental biology, molecular physiology, organismal behavior, and biomechanics. She holds a Ph.D. in Marine Biology and an M.S. in Oceanography from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, as well as a B.A. in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley.
