Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) and Boehringer-Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF) recognize the power of start-ups to create and sustain innovative pipelines for new breakthrough therapies.  It is the creativity and dedication of start-up companies that ensures the innovation pipeline continues to expand and offer new solutions to unmet medical need.  We understand the challenges and dedication it takes to start new companies, and we are in constant admiration of innovators willing to take the risk to bring their ideas to market.

2017  Innovation Prize
In support of grass roots innovation, each year Boehringer Ingelheim will award one life-science company in San Diego with an Innovation Prize.  This year we will be awarding the winner of the Innovation Prize with a Golden Ticket to BioLabs San Diego.

N.B. Companies that wish to enter into the Innovation Prize must submit their entry by February 20th, 2017.  BI will select and invite 15 candidates to present posters BioLabs on March 2nd, 2017.  BI will select the top 5 candidates from among the 15 poster presentations. Each of the top 5 will give a short 5 minute pitch before a panel of judges.  The winner will be announced at Boehringer Ingelheim’s Networking Reception.

LA BioMed invites you to join over 300 participants for an exciting day of innovation. Startup companies from prestigious research institutions throughout California will present, including: LA BioMed, Biocom, California Life Sciences Institute, CalState LA, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Lab Launch, Larta Institute, Pasadena Bioscience Collaborative, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Riverside, UCSD, USC, and more.

Additionally, we will be focusing on broad issues that can affect commercialization so we will have major addresses from LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, CEO & President of LA BioMed David Meyer, NIH SBIR/STTR Program Manager J.P.
