This goal of this event is to bring together researchers, patient advocates, and interested members of the community for a discussion of the current state of treatment, research going on in the space, and resources available to those whose lives are being touched by Alzheimer’s.
According to Alzheimer’s San Diego, an estimated 60,000 people in San Diego County are living with Alzheimer’s, which is now thought to be somewhere between the third to sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. Answers to this insidious disease have been incredibly elusive…despite billions of dollars of research dedicated to finding cures or treatments, only 4 drugs for treatment have been approved by the FDA since 2000.
Please join us for this important discussion. This event is open to anyone interested in learning about Alzheimer’s research and the disease effects on patients and their families and is free of charge.
