Biocom will host an exclusive Life Science Mayoral Forum with Council President Pro Tem Barbara Bry and Assembly Member Todd Gloria on September 17th.

Barbara Bry was elected to the San Diego City Council representing District 1 in 2016, and currently serves as its President Pro Tem. She is Chair of the Council’s Budget and Government Efficiency Committee and Vice Chair of the Rules Committee and the Committee on Public Safety and Livable Neighborhoods.

Prior to serving in public office, Barbara was a high-tech entrepreneur, serving on the founding team of several local high-tech companies.

Todd Gloria was elected to the California State Assembly representing the 78th District in 2016. He is a member of Assembly leadership, serving as the Majority Whip.

Todd has spent his career in public service, beginning at the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency. He was also District Director to U.S. Congresswoman Susan Davis. He was elected to the San Diego City Council in 2008 as the representative for the 3rd District, serving as Council President in 2012 and Interim Mayor in 2013.

Biocom staff and members work with the Mayor’s office and city staff on a variety of issues, including industrial land regulations, utility agreements and service, access to water, infrastructure maintenance and improvements, transit/transportation, and housing. This forum provides our members the unique opportunity to discuss local issues specific to life science and individual company concerns.

Attendance is limited to industry exectutive members only. Keep an eye out for an event summary in our next edition of this newsletter. If you have any questions, contact Melanie Cohn.
