We have many region-based committees of interest. In the Bay Area and Los Angeles, our joint Facilities/EH&S Committees provide a central forum for professionals working in these fields to share best practices, participate in continuing education opportunities, and design workshops and events.. In San Diego, our long-standing Facilities Committee and EH&S Committee cover similar topics pertinent to the greater San Diego life science community and consider local policy positions. In 2020 we proudly introduced our Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles Policy Committees, which offer opportunities to provide input on Biocom California’s positions on local legislative and regulatory proposals. We look forward to building these committees in 2021.

At the state level, our State Legislative Affairs Committee views California state legislation and regulatory proposals as well as makes recommendations for Biocom positions for the same. Our Public Policy Committee provides leadership and oversee activities of Biocom in the area of legislative and regulatory affairs, including establishing the organization’s official position on legislation and regulatory proposals of interest.

Biocom features three federal policy committees: our Federal Policy Committee addresses legislative issues, serves as a resource for all federal policy-related matters, and weighs in on legislative proposals affecting the industry; the Intellectual Property (IP) Committee brings California’s legal and life science communities together through discussion of important intellectual property and patent law issues affecting our members; lastly, the Regulatory Affairs Committee (RAC) addresses regulatory and scientific issues faced by the life science community and provides insight on legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the industry.

More information can be found on our policy committees as well as all of Biocom’s committees, by clicking here.
