The new year is a great time to join a Biocom committee – we offer groups tailored to a range of professions and topics. Our long-running San Diego Facilities and EH&S Committees meet bimonthly to share best practices, provide continuing education opportunities, and plan workshops and events such as our popular “Meet the Inspector” sessions that we’ve replicated throughout California.

In the Bay Area and Los Angeles, our joint Facilities/EH&S Committees provide a central forum for life science communities in these regions to address all facilities-related issues as well as current trends in real estate and facility financing opportunities. They also share and resolve issues pertaining to environmental regulatory and safety issues involved with running a company.

Our first San Diego Facilities Committee meeting of the year will take place on January 23rd 12:00 – 1:30pm at our headquarters in Torrey Pines. At this meeting, we will be joined by Dave Tedrow, Manager of Economic and Demographic Forecasting and Modeling for SANDAG. He will go over data findings around the life science employment center here and how transportation planning can use this data and input from companies to inform the 2021 Regional Plan and build out a complete transportation network in San Diego.
