Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, San Diego member EH&S professionals have convened with the help of Biocom to address issues specific to their roles. Day-to-day safety measures and virus control very often falls to these roles, and they are navigating uncharted territory of daily temperature checks, physical distance enforcement, testing/tracing, and outbreak response.

On September 11th, the fifth roundtable in this ongoing series was attended by 23 EH&S managers to share the latest pandemic control measures they are implementing. The group addressed various available tracing methods and technologies, including which applications are being used and whether their use is mandatory; quarantine policies and communications with quarantined employees and families; employee testing resources and frequency; the most recent San Diego County public health order (mandatory reporting of 3+ cases, availability of at-home testing); and, OSHA respiratory programs.

Biocom is pleased to organize these sessions as a unique benefit for our members. We are in the planning stages of hosting similar EH&S sessions for our members in the Bay Area. If you are interested in attending the San Diego or Bay Area sessions, please contact Melanie Cohn.
