All admission items with employee headcount breakdowns pertain only to industry companies (biotech and pharma companies). All other admissions fall under the category of ‘Service Provider, Scientific Services’ and must pay that rate, regardless of employee headcount.
A service provider is a company that does not directly work with a substance that needs approval by the FDA and/or does business-to-business sales. These companies provide a service to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry and include, but are not limited to, law firms, banks, laboratory equipment suppliers, consulting firms or IT services.
A scientific services company is an organization that provides specialized expertise, infrastructure and support to clients in the biotech, pharma and medical device industries, helping accelerate research, development and production processes through outsourced services. Key types of scientific services companies include contract research organizations (CROs), contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs).
If a service provider or scientific services company pays the industry fee, additional payment will be requested or registration may be canceled.
