At Biocom California Institute, we’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of life science professionals and advancing the industry. There’s no more pivotal moment than the transition from college to the workplace. That’s why we created the Life Science Career Fellowship, to open pathways for first-generation college graduates and underrepresented talent to launch meaningful careers in the life sciences.
Mentorship Overview:
- Expand your network and connect with other professionals
- Enhance your leadership and communication skills while gaining fresh perspectives
- This is a six-month commitment (January – June), totaling 15 hours
- The fellowship follows a hybrid format, combining online sessions with in-person events held at our regional offices
- Most fellowship events happen online or in-person on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. or 5 p.m. (once or twice a month except for monthly mentor meetings and additional networking opportunities)
The fellowship takes place across the San Diego, Greater Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area regions in California. Mentors must be currently residing in one of these three regions to participate as a mentor.

- Mentor Orientation (January)
- Meet & Greet with Fellows (January)
- Professional Development Workshop (February)
- Fellowship Networking Mixer (March)
- Mid-Program Check In (March)
- Professional Development Workshop (April)
- Capstone Event (June)
