Inspired by Knight Rider and Star Trek, Shahin developed a passion for engineering humanity’s superpowers. He learned BASIC on an IBM PC XT clone in 4th grade, explored engines at his uncle’s repair shop, and dreamed of creating K.I.T.T.-like systems and warp drives.
For over two decades, Shahin has partnered with founding teams. After working at software startups, he launched his first company in 2004, building on his Ph.D. research in brain signal interpretation chips and systems. In 2006, he joined Lux’s founding team, where he has cofounded and led investments in companies that became publicly traded (NYSE:AEVA, NYSE:PL) and were acquired by major tech companies including Intel (Nervana), Amazon (Zoox), Silicon Laboratories (Silicon Clocks), and Lattice Semiconductor (SiBeam).
