Jamil joined SV Health Investors in 2024 as a Partner on the Biotech team and a member of its Investment Committee. SV has a multi-decade history of investing in biotech startups. Jamil invests across the biotechnology company lifecycle, from seed-stage formation through late private and public financings, and currently serves on the boards of AdvanCell, Draig, and several stealth-stage companies.
A life sciences investor and company builder, Jamil focuses on translating breakthrough science into transformative medicines for patients. Before joining SV, he was a Partner at 5AM Ventures, where he led investments across therapeutic areas, modalities, and stages of development.
Throughout his career, Jamil has held investment and operating roles spanning company creation, financing, and product development, contributing to the advancement of multiple FDA-approved products. His experience includes Akouos (acquired by Eli Lilly), Aprea, Kinaset Therapeutics, Sage Therapeutics (acquired by Supernus), and Transave Inhalation Therapeutics (which reverse merged into Insmed).
