Amanda Kurihara is a strategic people and culture leader with nearly three decades of experience scaling high-growth biotechnology companies. Currently leading the 89bio integration at Genentech, she serves as a key partner on the Joint Integration Team following Roche Genentech’s acquisition of 89bio.
Previously, Amanda served as vice president of people and culture at 89bio, where she helped scale the company from a preclinical MASH asset to three Phase 3 trials and a total potential transaction value of $3.5 billion. Prior to that, as VP of HR at Catalyst Biosciences, she acted as a trusted partner to the CEO while guiding the company through its various strategic evolutions, from its protease platform origins to a clinical-stage benign hematology franchise and eventually back to preclinical pursuits.
Amanda holds a double B.A. from Mills College and serves on the board of advisors for Life Science Cares Bay Area.
