Chairman
Mr. Garner is a serial entrepreneur who has been involved in the formation and development of over 15 biomedical companies. He first came to San Diego in 1983 to join Hybritech as Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing. After Hybritech was sold to Lilly, he was involved in the purchase of a small local company, Dura Pharmaceuticals. Over the following 11 years, serving as Chairman/CEO, the company grew from $2M in revenues to over $300M in revenues. In 2000, Dura was sold to Elan Pharmaceuticals for $1.8B. Mr. Garner subsequently started his own investment fund, Garner Investments LLC. Over the next 25 years, he founded or co-founded numerous biomedical companies. Of the companies where he served as Chairman the following were successfully sold, DJ Pharma, Xcel Pharmaceuticals, Meritage Pharma, Elevation Pharmaceuticals, Kalyra Pharmaceuticals, Cadence Pharmaceuticals, Zogenix Inc., Zavante Inc. and Alastin Skincare.
Prior to joining Hybritech, Mr. Garner worked for Corning Medical and Scientific, Gilford Instruments and Upjohn Pharmaceuticals.
