Catherine Schweppe, PhD is a Science Officer at the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), where she helps shape the future of biomedical research by overseeing scientific funding programs in basic discovery biology and educational training. Driven by a commitment to advancing science from the bench to the broader public, she has built a career at the intersection of biomedical research, science policy and STEM education. Prior to joining CIRM, she managed a research portfolio on the neurological impacts of cancer and its treatment as a Program Officer at the National Cancer Institute, and previously served as a Presidential Management Fellow at the NIH. Catherine holds a PhD in Neuroscience from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of Washington.
