Corey Goodman, Ph.D.

Managing Partner

Corey Goodman is co-founder and Managing Partner of venBio Partners. He spent 25 years as Professor of Biology at Stanford and of Neurobiology at U.C. Berkeley. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and American Philosophical Society, and recipient of many honors including the Alan T. Waterman Award, Canada Gairdner Award, and Gruber Prize in Neuroscience. He co-founded multiple companies, including Exelixis, Renovis as CEO from a private to public company until its acquisition, and others, two of which (e.g., Labrys) have been acquired. He was President of Pfizer’s Biotherapeutics and Bioinnovation Center. Corey is Chair of seven biotechs and on the board of two others. His public service includes former Chair of both the California Council on Science and Technology (advising the Governor and State Legislature) and the National Research Council’s Board on Life Sciences (advising the Federal Government).
