Executive Director, California Biotechnology Foundation (CBF)

CBF is a 501 (c)(3) connecting California policy makers and healthcare stakeholders with the latest healthcare research and data from industry experts and research institutions. Patricia has spearheaded CBF’s multiple programs since its founding 20 years ago, advancing life sciences literacy among California’s top policy influencers, patients and providers. She is a seasoned coalition builder, directing strategy, expanding partnerships and leading collaborative campaigns across diverse coalitions, including state and national government, patient groups and labor unions. Her engaging campaigns serve as templates for international corporations, industry associations and healthcare stakeholders, raising literacy and discourse around important life sciences policy.

As Senior VP of Public Affairs at Weber Shandwick, Patricia led strategic communications planning and development for clients across the country in healthcare. She is part of the Wondros Partner Network, where she has worked on campaigns for the California Endowment, Song for Charlie and the CA Office of Emergency Services. She serves on the Board of Connecting to Cure, providing IBD patient advocacy and research funding, the Board of the CA Society for Biomedical Research, inspiring young people’s interest in life sciences and on the advisory board for the Rare Disease Access Coalition of California, where they strive to make quality care more accessible for every Californian impacted by rare diseases. She is a proud graduate of the University of Oregon.
