Assistant Director, Ionis Pharmaceuticals
Rachel Heath, PHR (she/her) comes with 17+ years of HR experience and is currently Assistant Director od Human Resources at Ionis Pharmaceuticals in Carlsbad, the leader in discovering and developing RNA-targeted therapeutics. Ionis’ broadly applicable drug discovery platform, called antisense technology, can treat illnesses where no other therapeutic approaches have proven effective or ever existed. Rachel’s scope of work includes managing employee benefits and wellness programs and HR Information Systems in addition to staffing and recruiting responsibilities. Rachel leads Ionis’ LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group and serves on Ionis’ DEI Advisory Council. Before joining Ionis in 2012, Rachel served as a HR generalist and manager at ELS Architecture and Urban Design in Berkeley, CA. Rachel received her BA in Studio Art from UC Santa Cruz and her MFA in Photography from CA College of Arts and Crafts (CCAC).
