Join Biocom’s San Diego Facilities Committee for an expert panel presentation on physical and cyber security at life science facilities. Our speakers will address preparing emergency protocols, preventing IP and IT attacks, latest security technologies, and coordinating with government agencies.

Sgt. Josh DaFoe is in charge of managing, supervising, directing and leading all Mass Threat related training and programs. Sgt. DaFoe develops training and facilitates drills, training exercises and contingency plans for both law enforcement and the private sector. Additionally, he visits and assess facilities to determine risks, vulnerabilities, consequences and mitigation options. Sgt DaFoe is a twenty three year veteran of the San Diego Police Department, having spent fifteen years on the SWAT unit.

Mike Dietsch is the senior client executive for Siemens Building Technologies in Southern California.  For two decades, Mike has helped clients increase their security posture and maximize operational effectiveness through implementation of integrated security platforms, including video management software, access control, video analytics and remote management and control.  He brings extensive working knowledge and expertise in the application of these technologies across diverse business and technical environments.   Within Siemens, Mike holds multiple advisory positions focused on data driven life-cycle solutions, digitalization and IOT solutions.  His client list extends to city governments, universities, airports, utilities and commercial organizations.
Mike is a San Diego native and a graduate of the University of California, San Diego.  He began his career in the security industry in 1997, working for a regional security provider before joining the Siemens San Diego office in 2001.

Originally from Portland, Oregon John Gill began his career as a Submarine Nuclear Reactor Operator for the United States Navy where he spent time in Germany and Japan. He later became the Chief Designer for Mercedes-Benz Advanced Concepts Studio. In 2009, Special Agent Gill began working for the FBI with a focus in Counterintelligence and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) specialities. When he's not in the field, he enjoys spending his time on modern and classic era Porsches, especially 911s.
