Dr. Young completed her B.S. at Johns Hopkins University, her Master of Research at University College London, and her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at UCLA. She has authored more than a dozen research papers, holds five patents, and received numerous awards and fellowships including the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, the Charles E. and Sue K. Young Graduate Student Award, the UCLA Jules Brenner Award and MIT Technology Review’s 35 under 35 Innovators in Biotechnology. In 2018, Dr. Young co-founded and became CEO of MyoGene Bio. She is inspired by her cousin who was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2008.
