One size does not fit all, and Biocom’s Bay Area programs are tailored to the diverse needs of the area. As a vibrant life science cluster in California, Biocom’s Bay Area office aims to support this dynamic industry through our unique and time-tested initiatives of Advocacy, Capital Development, Networking, Business Solutions and Workforce Development.

Bay Area Events

Biocom creates valuable networks that accelerate member success in the Bay Area through a variety of programs, including specialized events, targeted conferences, expert committees, leadership dinners, industry-focused meetings, scientific roundtables, venture capital days, and member-to-member networking. To address the greatest challenge of the region, our lack of a geographical center, we hold these events throughout the greater Bay Area in a broad range of locations, times and venues. In addition to our events, Biocom also supports and partners on events held by local organizations, which can be viewed here.

Emily Abraham
Projects and Events Associate -- Bay-Area

Emily is responsible for the support of programming, benefits, and unification of the vast Bay Area life science industry, largely through regional events and collaboration with members and partners. She also represents Bay Area Biocom member interests in regional policy and workforce development initiatives.

Emily brings a background in Bay Area public policy work, community outreach, tech startups and network development. She is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley where she majored in Anthropology and minored in Public Policy.

Daniel Im
Senior Business Development Associate -- Bay-Area

Daniel is responsible for expanding the Biocom presence in the Bay Area through membership development and engagement, as well as fostering community for members within the life science industry.

His background includes a short stint as a winemaking intern post-grad, five years of sustainability research and development at DuPont Industrial Biosciences followed by four years in a sales and marketing role at VWR. Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of California, Davis.

Michelle Nemits

Michelle Nemits
Sr. Director of Business Development, Bay Area -- Bay-Area

Michelle is responsible for building the framework for enabling the creation of a strong, well-connected life science community in the Bay Area, as well as on-boarding new members and ensuring that they take advantage of all the benefits available to them.

Michelle spent the past 20 years in sales, marketing and business development in the Bay Area life science ecosystem. She worked at a large lab supply distributor for 12 years and at a startup manufacturer of cell cryopreservation tools for 8 years, which fostered her broad view of the Bay Area market, its challenges and its opportunities.

Vikram Nichani
Business Development Manager, Bay Area -- Bay-Area

Vik is responsible for building and maintaining the Biocom presence in the Bay Area and Northern California. He focuses on leveraging his experience in both a large organization, and a startup, to be a resource for our members in the life science industry and help move business forward.

Vik graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Biological Sciences/Minor in Chemistry, and received his MBA from Pepperdine University. He joined Biocom with experience in the Diagnostics space, and brings a developed skillset in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, and the overall Customer Experience.
