Shlomo Melmed, is Executive Vice-President for Medicine and Health Sciences, Dean and Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai. Master of the American College of Physicians, an elected member of the Association of American Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Investigation, and received awards from Royal Society of Medicine, Endocrine Society, Society of Endocrinology, and Pituitary Society. His laboratory, devoted to molecular pathogenesis and treatment of pituitary tumours and consistently funded by NIH since 1980, has nurtured >80 trainees. He edits The Pituitary, and co-edits Williams Textbook of Endocrinology, as well as past editor-in-chief of Pituitary and Endocrinology. He serves on NIH Study Sections, is secretary of the Pituitary Society, was President of International Society of Endocrinology and is a Director of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine. He has shepherded multidiscplinary programs with a sustained impact on the practice of medicine by his clinical and educational inititiatives and major translational discoveries advancing endocrinology. His visionary leadership has propelled Cedars-Sinai to a top-tier academic health center.
