CEO, Chairman and Co-founder

Sophia Lugo is CEO, chairman and co-founder at Radar Therapeutics, which develops genetic medicines that turn on only in the right cell, at the right time, with exquisite specificity. Before Radar, Sophia held strategy and product roles at BGI Genomics’ Health Division and Ventures Incubator, the Boston Consulting Group, the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she led COVAX planning efforts and tracked communications and real-time strategic responses for the COVID vaccine rollout. She received her bachelor’s from Harvard University, master’s from Tsinghua University through the Schwarzman Scholars Program and MBA from Stanford University. Today, she believes exquisite specificity and in vivo programmability are the next frontier for genetic medicines.
